Fake Inquiries


Companies are moving online to promote their products in all over the world. Some customers are potential and show their interest towards a particular product and some are fake customers whose main motive is to do deception.   

As I am working as a marketing consultant of the Chinese company who is exterior door hardware manufacturer  and deals in door and window accessories. My main objective is to promote their company’s profile, products and generate inquiries for them. Recently I came to know that there are numerous fake buyers exist in this world who tries to do fraud and Nigerians are one of them. I got one inquiry from Nigeria and he was asking for 25,000 pieces of door handles. The email sent from Nigeria but the customer was saying that I live in USA, after the verification of buyer details I got to know that he is a fake buyer. He said send me the products and I will pay you once I receive all of them. On an average, I used to get 5 to 6 fake inquiries a day consisting from Nigeria and UK. 

We need to verify the buyer details first then entertain them otherwise you will waste your time and effort both.

Business to Business Portals


Most of the manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and exporters are moving towards the business to business portals. Everyone knows that these portals would increase the growth of a business in all over the world. The most well-known portals are Alibaba.com, Tradekey.com, and MadeinChina.com. 

As I am working as an overseas marketing consultant of China Building Material who deals in door & window hardware accessories, we bought a membership of Tradekey.com which help us in promotion, generate inquiries and increase traffic of our website. I have a very good experienced working with this renowned business to business portal where numerous people ask about our product catalog, prices and MOQs which gives an opportunity to convert the buyer into a potential one and end up with a deal. Although they don’t promise to make a deal but they give us the surety of quality inquiries in their tenure. I think this thing will create a positive image if customer knows that this company has a membership of B2B portal which helps them to build trust as well. I got so many inquiries daily who are asking about the quotations but unfortunately we have not done with a deal yet. However, I have done with the 2 sample orders which might be a positive sign for us and it will turn into a good outcome.

Excessive Promotion on Professional Medium


Promotion is necessary to create awareness and increase the demand of your product. That is why companies hired employees who have an expertise to use different promotional tools in an innovative ways
.
As I am working as an overseas marketing consultant for the Chinese exterior door hardware manufacturer so I am doing the same thing which I mentioned above. But today I just realized that if you excessive promotion on any professional medium than it could harm you a lot. As I am using Linkedin for connecting buyers who are dealing in door and window accessories, my main motive to introduce my company and products by sending personal messages to the potential buyers. I didn’t know that Linkedin does not allow us to do one activity excessively otherwise they will block your profile and you will not be a part of it. This thing happened to me when I was sending a promotional message to 500 users a day and suddenly it blocked and I lost all the connections as well as my existence on Linkedin.

The whole scenario is a part of learning for us that don’t violate the rules and regulation of any professional portal otherwise you will lose the identity of a particular medium.

Linkedin – A Useful Tool


Nowadays, it is so easy to communicate with people throughout the world. Companies are using different tools to connect with suppliers, distributors, importers and manufacturers to grow their business. There are numbers of tools which help people to show their presence for building trust with their customers. 

As I am working as an overseas buying consultant for an exterior door hardwaremanufacturer, so I need to make an account on Linkedin which is playing an important role to connect with business professionals worldwide. Over there, I made my companies profile with a name of (Door and Window Hardware Specialist - VIP Member at Tradekey.com) and put all my company details. There is an option to add connections that have a related business and communicate them easily by sending a message.   Up till now, we have 70+ connections and some of them are interested to buy our products and keep in touch with us. And for promotion, I used to add groups related to doorhardware manufacturer and got connected with 3000+ connections which help me to provide my message to them.

 I think, in a very short span of time we can connect numerous business professionals which would help us to grow our business.

Importance of Social Media Channels


Companies are trying to promote their products through different mediums and currently different social media channels are playing an important role to create awareness among their target customers. Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter are the famous social networking platforms to build your companies profile and connect with the world. 

I had my companies profile on Linkedin and added some groups too. But now, I am trying to connect with people who are doing a business related to door and window accessories. As I am working as a marketing consultant for an exterior door hardware manufacturer, I used to promote my companies product through these media channels and fulfill the need of customers through our product. My target market is all over the world except China so I added numerous connections on Linkedin and some people showed their interest in my company. I targeted the door hardware manufacturer who is working on a small scale and some people liked the way I am providing my information. 

I think it is a good opportunity for us to present your company worldwide through these social media channels.
