Sometimes customer educates the sales person


Most of the companies hire sales person who generate inquiries through different process. It depends on the product in which you are dealing in. Some companies prefer selling at doorstep and some push customers through phone calls and other promotional activities. 

I am working as a marketing consultant for an exterior door hardware manufacturer which is located in China. As far as my job description is concerned, I need to connect with people who need door and window accessories. I spoke to one customer who was located in Turkey. Basically, they are commercial door locks manufacturer which is also relate to our products. When I gave her our catalog then she said these products are pretty much common in Europe over others. And she suggested me to target them with your products and you will get a good response. Sometimes customer educates you that what is happening in the current market. She helped me a lot by giving some companies portfolio which could be my target customers. 

Good relationship with people help you a lot in your business and as well as in other matters.
